TPO – According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, thanks to the sudden increase in some products, agricultural exports are showing signs of recovery. By the end of September, exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached 38.5 billion USD, down slightly by 5.1% compared to last year’s record figure.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) informed that in September, export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products was estimated at 4.8 billion USD, up 22% over the same period last year.
Since the beginning of the year until now, exports have reached nearly 38.5 billion USD, down 5.1% over the same period last year. Contributing to the industry’s turnover, seafood reached 6.6 billion USD, down 21.7%, forestry products reached 10.4 billion USD, down 20.6%; production input 1.5 billion USD, down 20.2%.
Particularly, the agricultural and livestock products group increased strongly thanks to a sudden increase in some items. For example, fruits and vegetables reached 4.2 billion USD, an increase of 71.8%, rice reached 3.6 billion USD, an increase of 40.4%, cashew nuts 2.61 billion USD, an increase of 14.3%; coffee 3.16 billion USD, up 1.9% and livestock products are estimated at 369 million USD, up 26.4%.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, China, the US and Japan continue to remain the three largest export markets of Vietnam’s agricultural, forestry and fishery products.
In the opposite direction, imports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products since the beginning of the year reached 30.4 billion USD, bringing the industry’s trade surplus to 8.04 billion USD, up 22.5% over the same period last year.
To complete the set goal, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said it will continue to promote domestic consumption and export markets, including handling market issues in China, America, Europe…
