Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen – General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association – said that the export of vegetables and fruits increased sharply due to the reopening of the Chinese market. Experts say that, in the context of global inflation, in 2023, China will be the most potential destination of Vietnamese agricultural products thanks to its explosive demand, close geographical location, low logistics costs and risks. than other markets.
Strengthening the quality control of exported agricultural products
Information from Tien Phong, Department of Plant Protection – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) said that, despite a strong increase in exports, from the beginning of the year to now, countries importing Vietnamese agricultural products have discovered 370 lots. goods (banana, mango, dragon fruit, jackfruit, durian…) in 13 provinces and cities in the southern region have violations on plant quarantine.
Since 2021, the Plant Protection Department has received 107 warnings about export shipments that do not meet food hygiene and safety requirements. In order to strengthen the quality management of exported agricultural products, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has proposed to the Government to develop two decrees, one to manage the code of the growing area and the packaging facilities for vegetables and fruits for export. ; a decree stipulating administrative sanctions for violations of regulations on growing area codes and packing facilities.
“The Ministry of Justice is guiding the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to develop and soon submit these two draft decrees to the Government.
