Fruit and vegetable exports have exceeded the entire year of 2022

VOV.VN – By the end of the third quarter of this year, fruit and vegetable exports earned about 4.2 billion USD, 25% higher than the export turnover of last year.

Durian, banana, and dragon fruit are agricultural products that greatly contribute to the growth of the fruit and vegetable industry in particular and the entire agricultural industry in general. In particular, durian ranks first in exports, joining the “billion dollar” fruit group. It is predicted that in October, durian will soon reach a turnover of 1.5 billion USD.

Currently, China is the largest import market for Vietnamese fruits and vegetables with a total turnover of 8 months reaching 2.3 billion USD, an increase of 134% over the same period last year and accounting for 64% of the market share, followed by other countries. US, Korean, and Japanese markets.

Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, said that in the remaining months of this year there will still be durian in the Central Highlands, plus other new products and markets, so it is predicted that 2023 will export. Fruit and vegetable exports reached about 5 billion USD, reaching the target 2 years earlier than the plan in 2025.
