Some typical products such as onions and garlic have an output of 105,000 tons, harvested mainly in the winter crop every year (from December of the previous year to January of the following year); 26,000 tons of tomatoes (harvested from December of the previous year to January of the following year); watermelon and muskmelon over 70,000 tons (harvested from March to June every year); 35,000 tons of jicama (harvested from November of the previous year to January of the following year).

Affirming the carrot brand

As for carrots, this is one of 8 key agricultural products of Hai Duong; produces concentrated goods on a large scale, applying high technology, on alluvial lands along the Thai Binh and Kinh Thay rivers… mainly in districts and cities such as Cam Giang, Nam Sach, Chi Linh, Ninh Giang… Most of which are in Duc Chinh commune (Cam Giang district), this is considered the carrot capital of the province.

Hai Duong’s carrots are nourished from the alluvium of large rivers, combined with a mild climate that has created its own quality, flavor, and characteristic crispiness and sweetness.

In 2008, Cam Giang’s carrots were granted a collective brand certificate by the Ministry of Science and Technology, thereby contributing to affirming the value and brand of Hai Duong’s carrot products in the domestic and international markets.

Every year, Hai Duong’s carrot growing area maintains about 1,400 hectares, with an output of over 70,000 tons, of which, 100% of the area is produced according to safety standards (VietGAP, GolobalGAP) to serve domestic consumption. and export. Planting season is from early September to early October; Harvesting season is from January to March every year. About 70% of Hai Duong carrot output is pre-processed and refrigerated for export.

Currently, Hai Duong’s carrots are exported to markets in the Middle East, Korea, Japan, Europe, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand,… the remaining 30% is consumed domestically in the form of fresh roots and juices. , jam and dried carrots supplied as condiments to instant food processing factories.

In addition, in the province there are currently about 20 businesses, cooperatives, and establishments specializing in purchasing and exporting pre-processed carrots; Each unit can process and package about 100 tons of fresh carrots/day…

Market diversification
