Sharing with reporters, Director of the Plant Protection Department Huynh Tan Dat said that the three main product groups that Vietnam and China are interested in include agricultural products, aquatic products, and wildlife. In particular, the two sides agreed to sign two fresh coconut protocols and promote trade with sturgeon.
As for fresh coconuts, Chinese consumers are especially fond of this item. To sign the Protocol, the Plant Protection Department has researched in depth technical issues related to the management of harmful organisms, food safety and quality management measures, and related information packaging to traceability.
Mr. Dat also said that in the issue of promoting sturgeon export trade, the two sides have resolved problems, especially sturgeon imported into Vietnam to enhance the management role of the two countries and improve capacity. technical resources of each side to jointly manage and promote exports.
At the meeting between Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Trung and Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs of China Trieu Tang Lien yesterday (June 6), the two sides highly agreed on a plan to remove difficulties and obstacles. problems with Chinese sturgeon exported to Vietnam, in which China will support the Vietnamese side to strengthen its capacity to assess sturgeon species.
Currently, Vietnam has officially exported 12 fruit and vegetable products to China, including watermelon, mangosteen, black jelly, durian, fresh bananas, sweet potatoes, dragon fruit, rambutan, mango, lychee, longan , jackfruit.

Vietnam and China will also coordinate to complete the Protocol on the export of crocodiles, raw bird’s nests, poultry and exploited aquatic products from Vietnam to China.
Currently, Vietnam has about 112,000 hectares of durian with a total output of 840,000 tons. In 2023, Vietnam will harvest more than 60,000 hectares, the remaining 51,000 hectares of the basic design will be harvested in 2024.
