(CLO) In order to support them in bringing their agricultural products to e-commerce platforms, previously, ministries, branches and localities have also organized training courses on business skills on digital platforms, brand development, and image building for businesses, cooperatives (HTX), and farmers.Getting acquainted with consumption trends through online platforms

Recently, through social networking platforms and online e-commerce platforms, many localities have promoted the promotion of strong products.

For example, in early December 2024, in the Da Nang Product Promotion Festival Program – 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City in coordination with the Vietnam E-commerce Association and Vincom Ngo Quyen Da Nang Commercial Center will organize livestream sales.

Through social networking platforms and online e-commerce platforms, many localities have promoted their strong products.

The program attracted the participation of 26 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households in the city to display, introduce, promote, promote trade and consume products certified as OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, typical products, souvenir products, craft village products, startup products, etc. of Da Nang City.

In addition, the program also organized livestreams on the TikTok platform by TikTok content creators in collaboration with businesses to introduce, promote and sell products online to customers.

In Yen Bai, also during this time, the program “Online shopping day and OCOP product display to promote digital economic development in 2024” will be organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of Yen Bai with the participation of 30 businesses trading agricultural and aquatic products in the province and 8 TikTokers from Van Chan district, Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai city and Dien Bien province.

The TikTokers livestreamed 4 sessions selling products of businesses participating in the program.

In the context of globalization, e-commerce is not just a trend but has become a strong growth driver. In Yen Bai, the proportion of e-commerce in total retail sales increased from 8.48% in 2022 to 9.3% in 2023. Thereby, reflecting the change in consumer habits and the ability to apply technology of people and businesses. According to the review results, from 2021 to present, Yen Bai has 547 organizations and individuals transacting 60,542 billion VND on e-commerce platforms.

The program is a meaningful activity with online livestream sales activities to help businesses and consumers learn, approach, and get acquainted with consumption trends through online platforms. At the same time, continue to build and develop brands of OCOP products, typical rural industries of Yen Bai province, gradually affirm the brand of Vietnamese goods on e-commerce channels, improve competitiveness with other products on the market.

It can be seen that in the past 2 years, the consumption of agricultural products through e-commerce platforms has become an inevitable direction to help farmers expand the market, increase product value and reduce dependence on traditional distribution channels. Accordingly, agricultural, forestry and fishery production and trading enterprises have deployed and applied digital marketing to promote products, build brands through social networking sites, websites and mobile applications, helping to increase recognition and attract customers from domestic and foreign markets.

In order to support Vietnamese agricultural products, on December 12, 2024, in Hanoi, Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post) will also announce the launch of the e-commerce platform nongsan.buudien.vn, the first e-commerce platform specializing in high-quality agricultural products in Vietnam, with Vietnam Post as the technology and operation master.

Mr. Tran Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Digital Society (Ministry of Information and Communications) emphasized: In the context of global digital transformation, the agricultural sector is facing many challenges but at the same time opening up great opportunities for breakthroughs. Building an e-commerce platform dedicated to agricultural products is a practical solution to develop digital agriculture and also brings practical value.

First of all, the e-commerce platform dedicated to agricultural products aims at sustainable agricultural product consumption, directly connecting producers and consumers, contributing to minimizing the risk of product congestion.

At the same time, through traceability and quality assurance, Vietnamese agricultural products can increase product value, access and build trust not only in the domestic market but also in the international market. In particular, this trading platform supports farmers in accessing digital tools, increasing income, and improving their lives.

This e-commerce platform is not only a trading platform, but also an “online store” system with a nationwide network. According to calculations, each point of sale has an average service radius of 2.67 km and meets the needs of an average of 6,259 people.

This is the platform that creates the largest, fastest and closest agricultural product trading system to people across the country. Not stopping at the domestic market, this e-commerce platform will gradually expand to international markets such as China, Korea, Japan and many other countries.

Agricultural products find a “living space” on “online markets”

In order to support them in bringing their agricultural products to e-commerce platforms, previously, ministries, branches and localities have also organized training courses on business skills on digital platforms, brand development, and image building for businesses, cooperatives (HTX), and farmers.

TikTok Vietnam representative Nguyen Lam Thanh said that in 2023, the “OCOP Market” initiative within the framework of cooperation between the Center for Agricultural Trade Promotion (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and TikTok Vietnam has successfully brought OCOP products, along with local agricultural and specialty products to promote to a large community on the TikTok Shop e-commerce feature.

In order to support them in bringing their agricultural products to e-commerce platforms, previously, ministries, branches and localities also organized training on business skills on digital platforms.

After one year of implementation, “OCOP Marketplace” has created a positive effect, strongly spreading the value of the OCOP program to social network users, such as: hashtag #OCOP reached 1.4 billion views, more than 800 “OCOP Marketplace” livestream sessions were organized, with sales reaching more than 100 billion VND, supporting more than 3,000 OCOP subjects nationwide to get acquainted with online business.

Following that success, in 2024, TikTok will coordinate with the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to support enterprises, cooperatives producing Vietnamese goods, OCOP subjects in the provinces on digital skills, online advertising… to bring typical products of each locality to a large number of consumers nationwide. It is expected that in 2024, TikTok will train about 5,000 enterprises, cooperatives and business households through this cooperation program.

Also within the framework of this cooperation program, TikTok recently organized training for businesses and production and business cooperatives in 5 Central Highlands provinces to understand and master digital skills to promote and introduce products on e-commerce platforms. At the same time, a livestream session was organized with the support of famous local TikTokers (such as owners of Hana Ban Me, Chuyen Cua Duc channels…) so that businesses and cooperatives could have practical experience in selling on TikTok.

The livestream session had 26 typical products of the Central Highlands participating, with discounts of 5 – 70% to help businesses and cooperatives gain more experience; at the same time, helping buyers experience typical products of the Central Highlands at preferential prices. At the same time, helping businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP entities master the tools, operate the system themselves, and put goods on the TikTok Shop feature, livestream sales, etc.

Market research units predict that the Vietnamese e-commerce market will continue to grow strongly, which is a great opportunity for agricultural enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. In fact, in recent years, the wave of bringing agricultural products and OCOP products to e-commerce platforms has been implemented quite vigorously by businesses and localities across the country. Initial results show that many agricultural products such as Bac Giang lychee, Hoa Loc mango (Dong Thap), Tan Trieu grapefruit (Dong Nai) … have found a “living space” on “online markets”.
