It is expected that each week, the company will import 3-5 tons of lychee to the UK depending on consumption demand.
In terms of form, this year, when imported into the market, pink fabric will have a packaging bearing the image of a red flag with a yellow star of Vietnam, contributing to British consumers’ recognition of the brand. However, the export of persimmon fruit to the UK also faced some difficulties such as the difficulty of product preservation due to the characteristics of lychee that must be consumed within 3 days; enterprises need to master post-harvest preservation technology; Vietnamese litchi has a high selling price in the UK (about 15 pounds/kg, equivalent to more than 400,000 VND) due to high shipping costs.
Regarding the export of agricultural products, in the past time, agricultural products exported to the Chinese market are quite favorable. According to the Customs Branch of Lao Cai international border gate, all agricultural products when arriving at the border gate are given priority to handle customs clearance procedures. Relevant units also create conditions for enterprises to publicize export processes and procedures, avoiding wasting time on additional procedures.
Administrative procedures such as issuance of phytosanitary certificates and certificates of origin for businesses are also carried out early in the morning every day. Border guards at the border gate also organize channeling for trucks carrying export goods along the shortest route.
From May 30 to June 2, 470 trucks of agricultural products were cleared through Lao Cai border gate to China. On June 2 alone, more than 120 trucks of agricultural products cleared customs. Agricultural products include lychee, dragon fruit, watermelon, jackfruit, passion fruit, and durian.
