201 Chinese traders plan to buy Vietnamese lychee

According to the Bac Giang Industry Promotion and Trade Promotion Center (Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade), after 2 rounds of application approval, so far, 201 Chinese traders have registered to enter Vietnam and come to Bac Giang to participate in monitoring raw material areas, signing contracts for the purchase and consumption of lychee in this locality.

This list of Chinese traders has been sent by the Bac Giang Provincial Police to the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) for entry permit procedures. It is expected that at the end of May, Chinese traders will start entering Bac Giang to participate in consuming early ripe lychee.

According to Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade, in 2023, the province has 29,700 hectares of lychee; in which, the harvested area is estimated to reach over 180,000 tons, the harvest time is expected from May 20 to July 30.

This year, the trade promotion and consumption of lychee has an innovation point, instead of organizing many promotional and trade promotion activities in many provinces and cities, Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade will switch to connecting directly for gardeners, cooperatives with enterprises to sign contracts for purchasing and consuming litchi.

Up to now, Bac Giang Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion has signed 34 cooperation agreements with agricultural wholesale markets, e-commerce trading floors, supermarket chains, businesses, etc. consumed about 110,000 tons of fabric.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Giang province, through the review so far, the province has 110 planting area codes with 16,034 hectares and 215 establishments that are eligible to pack fresh lychees for export to the Chinese market. Country.

In addition, Bac Giang is proposing to additionally grant 13 planting area codes, covering an area of 575 hectares, bringing the total area of lychee cultivation for China’s export to 16,609 hectares, with an estimated output of 110,000 tons.
