The Plant Protection Department has just requested to review and synthesize growing areas and packaging facilities for fresh coconut and frozen durian exported to China.

Dak Lak province currently has more than 22,500 hectares of durian, output in 2023 will reach more than 214,000 tons.

To speed up the process of opening the market for fresh coconuts and frozen durians exported from Vietnam to China and prepare all conditions for registration of growing area codes and packaging facilities after When the Protocol is signed, the Plant Protection Department requests the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection and specialized agencies of provinces and cities to coordinate in notifying and guiding organizations and individuals. There is a need to register growing areas, fresh coconut packaging facilities and frozen durian packaging facilities for export to the Chinese market.

The units review, inspect and evaluate the field and compile a list of growing areas, fresh coconut packaging facilities (green-shelled fruits, peeled coconuts) and frozen durian packaging facilities (durian fruit). with shell, pureed durian and durian rice without shell) have enough documents, equipment and machinery to meet the plant quarantine and food safety requirements of the importing country.

Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, said that if Vietnamese frozen durian is licensed, durian export turnover will increase by 30% of the total export value of this product each year.

In 2024, fruit and vegetable exports are expected to continue to boom if fresh coconuts and frozen durians are exported to China.
