In the past 9 months, the country’s agricultural, forestry and fishery export turnover reached 46.28 billion USD, an increase of 21% over the same period last year, according to information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the afternoon of October 4.
The representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also said that all key product groups recorded strong growth. Specifically, agricultural products increased by 27.7%; forestry products increased by 20.3% and aquatic products increased by 9.5%. The trade surplus of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products in the first 9 months reached 13.86 billion USD, an increase of 71.2%, showing the outstanding profitability of this industry.
The miracle of agricultural exports was also recorded in the average export price of coffee, which increased by 56% (reaching 3,897 USD/ton), while pepper also recorded an increase of 49.2%.
The export market also had positive changes, with the Americas increasing by 26.1% and Europe increasing by 34.6%. The United States, China and Japan continued to hold the position as the three largest export markets of Vietnam, with proportions of 21.6%, 20.8% and 6.6%, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, although the prices of some domestic products, such as rice and vegetables, have fluctuated due to the impact of the storm, localities continue to establish codes for growing areas and packaging facilities to improve product quality and orient production according to market demand. Economic experts say that the remarkable growth in agricultural, forestry and fishery exports not only helps increase economic value but also affirms the position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is committed to continuing to promote exports through trade promotion activities and improving product quality.
