(VOH) – In the first 5 months of 2022, export turnover to China market reached more than 722 million USD, accounting for nearly 51% of the export turnover of the whole industry.

According to statistics of the General Department of Customs, in the first 5 months of 2022, fruit and vegetable exports reached 1.42 billion USD, down more than 16% compared to the same period last year. In particular, the export turnover to the Chinese market alone reached more than 722 million USD, accounting for nearly 51% of the export turnover of the whole industry. Because China accounts for a large proportion, any changes in import-related policies in this market significantly affect the export results of Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable industry.

In particular, through the statistics, it is shown that the fruits of Vietnam officially exported to China are in the leading position. 11 kinds of Vietnamese fruits are officially exported to China, including mango, dragon fruit, banana, longan, lychee, watermelon, rambutan, jackfruit, mangosteen, passion fruit and durian. on export turnover.

According to statistics of the General Department of Customs, in the first five months of 2022, fruit and vegetable exports reached USD 1.42 billion, down 16.3% over the same period last year. In which, the export turnover to the Chinese market alone reached 722.17 million USD, accounting for 50.64% of the export turnover of the whole industry.

Because China accounts for such a large proportion as mentioned above, any changes in import-related policies in this market will significantly affect the export results of Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable industry. In particular, through the statistics, it is shown that the fruits of Vietnam officially exported to China are in the leading position.

For dragon fruits, statistics from the General Department of Customs show that, in the first 5 months of this year, the export turnover of dragon fruits of all kinds (fresh, frozen, dried, juice) reached USD 344.23 million, down 38.2% over the same period, but this is the fruit with the largest export turnover.

In terms of market structure, dragon fruit is mainly exported to China with a proportion of 84.9% (equivalent to over USD 292 million), so the sharp decline in this market (down 42 .6%) resulted in the aforementioned 38.2% decline.

With jackfruit, the product with the third largest export turnover of fruit, in the first 5 months of 2022 reached 90.8 million USD, down 12% over the same period. In which, China is also the largest export market with a turnover of nearly 78.8 million USD (accounting for 86.74%), down 20.7% over the same period.

Meanwhile, bananas, which have the second largest export turnover of fruit, in the first five months of 2022 reached USD 207.6 million, up 36% over the same period last year.

Other fruits in official exports to China were among the top in export turnover in the first five months of this year, including mango with USD 76.7 million, down 60.1% compared to same period; durian reached USD 46.2 million, up 109.4 percent; passion fruit reached 34.4 million USD, up 40.8%; watermelon reached 17 million USD, down 63.4% over the same period.
