Vietnam’s seafood has also grown from 1 billion USD in export turnover in 2000, up to now, it has reached 11 billion USD. The export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products this year totaled more than 53 billion USD. This is clearly a number, a result that speaks volumes.

The trade surplus of the whole industry is estimated at 8.5 billion USD, up 30% compared to last year.
“When inflation in other countries is high, this is both a challenge and an opportunity. Second is the increase in input prices. Therefore, we set a target of 10 billion with a modest level. And we will be more productive. active, flexible and creative to decide on solutions to speed up at the right time,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien.
The year 2022 has marked efforts to negotiate and complete the procedures for exporting a series of agricultural products such as mango, chicken to Korea, pomelo, lemon to New Zealand; feathers, oats, passion fruit, durian, sweet potato… to China. Fresh pomelo is the 7th fruit of Vietnam allowed to be imported into the US market.
The export market continues to be expanded in both categories and products, in parallel with the focus on the domestic market, which will be the basis for the goal of the agricultural product export turnover of 2023 reaching 54 billion USD.
“The year 2023 will be the year to review the structure of each value chain, each specific product. We do not develop massively leading to rushing to plant durian trees but forget other agricultural products. The second is the result. The third is to ensure a stable price structure and output,” said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan, director of the Department of Processing and Market Development.
According to the recommendation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, market risks will be minimized when production meets market standards well. Associations, businesses and producers must keep their credibility when the market in 2023 is forecasted to have a great demand for food and foodstuffs.
