IQF LOTUS SEED
IQF lotus seed from HungHau Foods Joint Stock Company (HungHau Foods) is carefully selected from lotus growing areas in Dong Thap province, Vietnam. The seeds are harvested at the right maturity, peeled and de-germed on the same day, then processed using advanced IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) technology, ensuring the preservation of the natural sweet, nutty flavor of fresh lotus seed.
HungHau Foods has the capacity to supply up to 500 tons of IQF lotus seed annually. Both the product and HungHau Foods’ processing facilities comply with international certifications and standards, including BRCGS, HACCP, ISO 22000, FDA, KV, HALAL, and SMETA.

NUTRITIONAL COMPOSITION
Lotus seed is a low-fat ingredient, rich in starch and minerals. The figures below are given per 100 g of fresh seed.
- Energy: Fresh lotus seed provides approximately 89 kcal/100 g.
- Plant Protein: Approximately 4.1 g/100 g.
- Fat: Very low, approximately 0.5 g/100 g, virtually cholesterol-free.
- Starch: Approximately 17 g of carbohydrate/100 g in fresh form.
- Minerals: Supplies potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, and small amounts of iron and zinc.
APPLICATIONS
Frozen lotus seed serves a wide range of customers, from large-scale processing plants to hotel and restaurant kitchens.
- Beverage Industry: Used as an ingredient in lotus seed milk, lotus tea, and toppings for chilled beverages. The individually frozen seeds allow quick and accurate portioning, with no soaking required as with dried lotus seed.
- Processed Foods: Used in lotus seed sweet soup, candied lotus seed, mooncake fillings, nutritional congee, soups, and ready-to-eat packaged products, suitable for industrial production and large-scale output.
- Hotels – Restaurants – Cafés: Lotus seed sweet soup, lotus leaf steamed rice, chicken stewed with lotus seed, and seasonal desserts. Kitchens take only the amount needed and keep the rest frozen, reducing waste and spoilage.
- OEM – Private Label: Supply of IQF lotus seed for businesses producing private label products (OEM/Private Label), meeting quality, packaging, and export standard requirements.
